Men’s 1st XI Coach (Head/Assistant/Player Coach)

Stourport Hockey Club is seeking a coach for the Men’s 1st XI. We are open to discussions regarding Head Coach, Assistant Coach, or Player/Coach roles.

About the Club

Established in 1892, we have history as one of the strongest hockey clubs in the Midlands. Today, we are one of the few hockey clubs in England to hold both Talent Academy and Talent Centre status and have a strong track record of developing players to national teams.

The Men’s 1st XI will compete in the Midlands Premier Division in 2025/26, after playing in National League for the past 3 seasons.

Role Overview

• Deliver and lead high-quality training sessions
• Support team selection and player development
• Provide performance feedback and post-match analysis (including Veo)
• Work with club captains and wider coaching team
• Contribute to pre-season and squad development
• Attend M1 fixtures (and M2s where available)
   

Experience

• Level 2 coaching qualification (or working towards)
• Coaching or player-coach experience
• Strong focus on player and team development
• Safeguarding, First Aid and DBS (or willingness to obtain)

• Align with England Hockey policies (Spirit of Hockey, Equality, Safeguarding)
• Promote a positive, inclusive environment

Remuneration
Paid role, dependant on experience

Eligibility
Applicants must have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of appointment. Candidates are responsible for securing and maintaining their own right-to-work status.
