Jo Hunter

Jo can play as either a midfielder or a forward and has played for England at all levels. She made her U16 debut in 2007 and at U18 level, she won bronze at the 2009 European Championships.

In 2010, Hunter was a member of the U21 squad which won silver at the EuroHockey Junior Nations Championships in Lille; and two years later, won bronze on her final U21 appearance at the Volvo EuroHockey Junior Championships.

Hunter also won bronze on her senior debut, earning five caps at the Investec Challenge in Cape Town, South Africa.

In domestic hockey her pace and eye for goal has been the scourge of many a defence during successful spells at Leicester where she won the EuroHockey Club Champions Trophy. Before joining Leicester, Hunter spent three seasons at Beeston, while studying chemistry at Nottingham University. In her final season the Conference North champions narrowly missed out on promotion, losing 5-2 to Surbiton in their final match at the Promotion Tournament at Reading.

Originally from Aylesbury, Hunter joined her local hockey club at the age of eight, embarking on the long journey that eventually led to her representing her country.

In 2017 Jo married England and GB men's goalkeeper George Pinner and at the European Championships in the Netherlands both returned with bronze medals.
