Player Profile
With maturity beyond his years, Jack Waller has become a crucial component of the England and Great Britain teams since making his international debut in October 2018. Just a few weeks later he helped England to a fourth-placed finish at the Men's Hockey World Cup and barely missed a game since, featuring at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and scoring his second international goal in the opening game against South Africa.
A versatile operator capable of playing in defence or midfield, he is also a highly intelligent reader of the game and a natural leader. One of the first graduates of the GB Elite Development Programme, Jack also lists winning the 2018 BUCS Championship with Durham University — alongside fellow international Rhys Smith — as one of his proudest hockey achievements.
Jack was a pivotal member of the Great Britain squad that qualified for Paris 2024, adding to a decorated international career. He represented England at the 2023 World Cup in India and won silver with England at the 2023 EuroHockey Championships, taking his overall haul to three European Championships and a Commonwealth Games bronze from Birmingham 2022.
He made his second Olympic appearance at Paris 2024, having also competed at Tokyo 2020, and passed the 100-cap mark for combined England and Great Britain honours along the way. He now plays for Dutch Hoofdklasse club Pinoké, having previously turned out for Wimbledon and Belgium's Gantoise.
