James Albery made his debuts for England and Great Britain in 2017, before returning to the fold for the Pro League fixtures against Spain in February 2022. Later that month he was confirmed as part of the Great Britain training squad for the Paris cycle, and captained England against India that April.
He went on to help England win Commonwealth Games bronze in Birmingham that summer.
Albery represented England at the 2023 EuroHockey Championships and the 2023 World Cup in India, and helped Great Britain qualify for the Paris 2024 Olympics, where he made his Games debut. He continues to captain sides at both England and GB level and plays his club hockey for Old Georgians.
