Club Membership 2021/22 Window Opens
The Club Membership window for the new season for hockey in England is now open. Club Affiliation has been replaced with two Membership options for clubs. This marks the launch of the new England Hockey insurance scheme, which is available amongst a range of other benefits for clubs that sign up for Membership +.
As outlined at the England Hockey AGM, the objective of the new insurance scheme and our partnership with Bluefin Sport is to offer the best combination of value, level of cover and service across hockey, by using our collective buying power. Clubs are still free to arrange their insurance policies, but across the board there is now a higher minimum level of cover required, including personal accident cover now mandatory for club members. So, for the start of the 2021/22 season the whole sport will be in a better position in terms of cover, managing risk and reducing liability for clubs.
There are two types of membership on offer:
• Membership +, which has a range of benefits including the new EH insurance scheme.
• Membership which is the same as affiliation from previous years.
A new longer Membership window is open until 31st October and designed so that clubs can organise their insurance before 1st September when the majority of policies start. Clubs then have until the 31st October to pay their fees, allowing time at the start of the season to generate income and collect subs from their members.
