U18 England Age Group Observation Squads Named

Following the conclusion of the recent School Games and 2021’s edition of Futures Cup, some of the most exciting young athletes from across the country have showcased their talent.

England Age Group coaches have continued to observe the young players and, after announcing the U16s last week, have named the below England U18 assessment groups:

Off the back of the naming of the squads, Junior Talent Development Manager, Dieter Hill commented:

“After a torrid 18 months for junior hockey players, we feel very fortunate to have been able to deliver Futures Cup and participate in School Games. A massive thank you to our partners at Youth Sport Trust and the many volunteers who helped to create fabulous experiences for those involved.

“Through these two tournaments we have been able to observe and identify a number of players to be taken forward for further observation and assessment in the England Age Group environments this Autumn.”

The listed players will be invited to further England Age Group observation and assessment activity, working toward a place in the final training squad to be announced later in the year. The players nominated for activity will receive further information by email in the next 24 hours.

England Hockey would like to place on record our sincere thanks to every player, coach, administrator, volunteer and parent / guardian for their hard work and dedication in arriving to this point.

We hope Futures Cup and School Games have been a positive highlight and whatever the outcome of today’s decision, you have been able to take much from your experiences and opportunities.
