Amy came through the ranks at East Grinstead, playing for the club's Ladies 1st XI in the Women's Premier Division before being selected for the GB Senior Hockey programme alongside East Grinstead teammate Pippa Lock, as one of ten players added to the programme. At the time she was new to the England and GB set-up but had excelled for East Grinstead in the England Hockey League.
The day after signing for GB, Amy broke her kneecap — a brutal reminder of how quickly things can change in professional sport — sidelining her for a lengthy recovery. She fought back to fitness and returned to the East Grinstead first team, and made her debut in the 2025/26 FIH Hockey Pro League.
