A talented track and field athlete in her youth, Ellie represented Wales as a 400m sprinter, but it's hockey where her heart has always belonged — working her way up through the junior system before making her international debut in early 2017.
Alongside Lily Owsley, Ellie is regarded as one of the fastest players in the squad and can often be found surging past defenders on the international scene. That tournament completed the full list of major tournaments for Ellie, having previously appeared at a World Cup, Commonwealth Games and EuroHockey Championships — before the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where she produced several stunning performances to help Great Britain win bronze, scoring three goals despite playing through a broken nose in the latter stages.
She added Commonwealth Games gold with England at Birmingham 2022 — a memorable summer that also saw her play in the World Cup in the Netherlands and Spain. She has continued as one of the squad's most dangerous attacking outlets through the Paris 2024 Olympic cycle and beyond, now with well over 120 combined England and GB caps.
