Lily was selected for the England U21 squad set to compete in the 2021 Junior World Cup before it was postponed due to Covid. She was then added to the senior Great Britain training squad in February 2022, and made her senior England debut that April.
She capped an extraordinary breakthrough year that summer, winning Commonwealth Games gold on the pitch at her own University of Birmingham, as well as playing in that year's World Cup. She added her first Great Britain caps in April 2023 and has since become one of the squad's most consistent performers, being named co-captain of the England women's team alongside Flora Peel for the 2025–26 season and the squad for the 2026 FIH Hockey World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands.
