Player Profile
Sophie made her senior international debut for Great Britain in October 2020, playing four FIH Hockey Pro League matches against the Netherlands and Belgium. She was a reserve at the 2021 EuroHockey Championships, before playing her first game for England against Argentina in February 2022.
Alongside twin sister Olivia, she was added to the full senior programme that same January, having progressed through England's U16, U18 (winning bronze at the 2018 EuroHockey Youth Championships) and U21 age groups, while also spending time in the GB Elite Development Programme.
Her big breakthrough came that summer: she won Commonwealth Games gold with England in Birmingham and made her World Cup debut in the Netherlands and Spain. She went on to captain the England side through the 2024–25 season as the squad rebuilt following the Paris Olympic cycle.
She currently plies her domestic trade at Surbiton, having previously featured for Clifton Robinsons and spent time playing in the USA with the UConn Huskies.
