Shona has come a long way since being introduced her to the sport as a six-year-old in order to try and get rid of her excess energy.
She has already achieved plenty in the game, including winning Olympic gold and bronze medals for Great Britain alongside a European triumph with England in 2015.
Having spent 18 months out of the game due to injury, Shona made a successful return to international hockey in mid-2019 and used her experience, excellent reading of the game and tenacity in midfield to guide GB to Tokyo 2020 bronze. The following summer she played in her first Commonwealth Games and World Cup, winning bronze in the former in Birmingham.
Shona also spent three years playing and studying in The Netherlands - a period she says helped her significantly on her journey to becoming a senior internationals - and spends her spare time inspiring children and playing with her dog Milo.
